The Traces Of Winter On The Rails Of My Lips by Poet Fholarin

Image
Dried and fragile. like the smoked fishes on one side of the odò-obà highway, whose moting leathers are displaced by the barbed-tips of some iron-moulded rods conjuring warmth to the fur-like palms of the kaduna fishermen. When I use my index finger to brace the springs of my lips from falling down to earth in heavenly thud — like the "ikogusi" water falls — the formants on their faces creak like the hinge of an old entrance door singing shrilling lullabies to the eardrums of the hollow wind. …every morning comes with a pepperish wound inflicted by the unsalubrous caressive touches of winter on 'the rails of my lips' while I superimpose the spelling of "P" — in between the covetous glide that secretes salivas to the lateral region of my tongue. Gruffly pored; like the scorched earth — torn apart by the war menace in the barren Sahara in Africa.Saggy as a shaggy hair of a wild writer sagging his vivid pen on the sad cheeks of a white paper. ※fholar

PALESTINE: Peace Shall Reign by Mosuro Hasfah Oluwatobi

Image
In Palestine, a land of strife, We pray for peace, and end to strife. A future where all can live in peace, With love and hope, a world released. A land of beauty, history, and grace, Where all are free, in every place. A place of hope, and endless joy, Where all are one, a girl, a boy. With peace and love, a better life, A new beginning, no more strife. Let us hope that one day soon, The peace we long for will bloom. A future free of anger, hate, Where all are equal, no debate. So let us dream, and work, and strive, For a Palestine, where all can thrive. Where children play, and all are free, To live a life of dignity. With justice, truth, and love for all, Our Palestine, so tall and tall. A land where all can live in peace, With hope and joy, no cease. May this future come to be, A land where all are truly free. Where all can share, in every way, The joys of life, each coming day. Let this vision be our guide, As we work for peace, with pride. For Palestine, our future ho

What Did Gaza Teach Us by Edhem Sharqowi ( A Palestinian )

Image
1. Gaza taught us that the Security Council is a gang, that international law is ink on paper and that Human Rights law is a joke! 2. Gaza taught us that this world is one-eyed; it turns its seeing eye wherever it wants and its sightless eye wherever it wants. The children of Gaza are not like the children of Ukraine in their eyes! Because Ukrainian children are Romans like them, but we are Arabs! 3. Gaza has taught us that rights are taken by force, they cannot be obtained by begging. No one will come to you and say, "You are good, I will give you what you want." If you want something, reach out your hand and take it despite the whole world! 4. Gaza taught us that it is possible to liberate Palestine from the sea to the river and that what happened this time is just a small "rehearsal" for the future! 5. Gaza taught us that anyone can do what he wants, that it is never a question of means, but of will. Who could have imagined that a besieged Gaza could

A Clarion Call To My Muslim Brethren Towards Embracing Islamic Camps by Tayyib Qamarudeen

Image
Here comes the beautiful season of Islamic conferences influx courtesy of Islamic organizations to reviving and reawakening muslim brothers and sisters from their Long spiritual slumber which is impediment to the free flow of Islamic evangelism.  It is such a divine initiative which was gave birth to by Jamahaat with view to keeping Muslim wards preoccupied with Dawah activities and different kinds of Ibaadah rather than mingling with kufru based festivities such as Christmas ,new year celebration among other unconstitutional festivals   that no authority was revealed to do in Islam. It is not an hyperbole to conceptualize that ,this development is the reminiscent of worth emulating traditions of the pious predecessors of prophet Muhammad (SAW) since its source of activities emanates from Kitab and Sunnah just as Sohaabas.  It is not only crave to inculcate pristine Islamic teachings not only advocate for unity among Muslims nor only to cleanse Muslims from the virus of soc

While They Played… by Aishat Elusogbon

Image
He sat there, watching them play silently. What he was doing was absurd, really. He had a lot of important things to do: there was a meeting by eight tomorrow morning he had to prepare for, and he had to report back to his boss on an assignment that was long due. But he couldn't help himself. So he sat there and watched. He wondered which of them he'd kill first, and with what. Sighing, he removed his phone from his pockets and began to unlock it. He'd been there for about ten minutes now, and it didn't seem like they would stop playing anytime soon. So he'd better find something more productive to do. The fact was, he had no idea what force had had him sitting down there for over ten minutes without taking action. His mind had already killed them in twenty different ways and yet his body was as calm as though it was a normal day. Whatever it was, he was grateful to God for it. Because with the way he was usually, he would have acted already. As he began

Extravagance and Convocation Ceremony Of OAU Students by Mutohhir Abdulhamid Olanrewaju

Image
Islam is a complete religion, you will always find what you need in our religion, I was so amazed when I got to where Allah talks about Extravagance in the Qur'an.  Immediately, I read this verse, i checked the tafseer of the verse.        Today that OAU students are convocating, I think it's important for me as an upcoming scholar to pen something down about this in order for fellow undergraduates to benefit from it. If you ruminate deeply about Q7:31,  Allah says in the last miracle that was sent to Prophet Muhammad sallahu alayhi was-Salam, you will see that our Uncreated Creator commanded us to prohibit Extravagance. "O children of Adam! attend to your embellishments at every time of prayer, and eat and drink and be not extravagant; surely He does not love the extravagant." ( Q7:31 ) In tafseer Ibnu Katheer, the statement where Allah says "And eat and drink but waste not by extravagance," lmam bukhori said that ibnu Abbas said,   "Eat wh

Victory For Palestine by Mosuro Hafsah Oluwatobi

Palestine, oh Palestine, A land with so much history. A people with such resilience, A spirit, proud and free. The fight is not yet over, And the struggle has been long. But the time for victory is near, And your song will be a song of hope. Your flag will fly high in the sky, As your people celebrate with pride. The time is drawing near, When all your dreams will be realized. So hold on tight and never let go, For your victory is close at hand. Though the road may be long and hard, You'll reach the finish line. No matter how great the odds, Your strength will keep you fine. Your spirit cannot be broken, It's forged from steel so strong. You've come so far and faced so much, But you've held on all along. So keep your eyes on the prize, And never give up the fight. Your perseverance will pay off, And the world will see your light. The time is now, so stand up tall, And let your voice be heard. For your message is one of truth, And your resolve cannot be blurr

Justice for Palestinians in Palestine by Summayyah Alaran

Image
In a land of serene harmony and peace, joy and happiness permeated every corner. The echoes of laughter created a soothing melody. But overnight, cries and sorrow pierced the air. The once vibrant happiness and joy vanished, replaced by tears and mourning. Laughter turned into cries, and the beautiful melody transformed into dissonant noise. Children suffered, adults wept .  Injustice held its grip, inflicting pain upon the innocent. Lives were lost, with no respite in sight. Hardships loomed large, while freedom remained elusive. Hope shattered, and unity faltered. Let us stand together, fighting for the people of Palestine. Let us resurrect the lost hope within our brotherhood. We shall stand unwavering, refusing to falter until peace and harmony are restored. Our voices shall ring out, demanding freedom to echo far and wide. Let us unite, unyielding in our pursuit until justice reigns supreme. #FREE PALESTINE #FREE PALESTINE #FREE GAZA #FREE G

Not Again by Mosuro Hafsah Oluwatobi

Image
You say you want to love me again, That you've learned from your mistakes. But I'm not sure I can trust you, I'm still feeling betrayed. You broke my heart once before, And it still hurts like it's new. I'm not sure I can open up to you, Not after all we've been through. I know you say you've changed, That you've learned from your past. But I can't shake the memories, Of our love that didn't last. I'm not sure I can give you another chance, It's too hard for me to do. I'm afraid I'll get hurt again, If I let myself love you. I know you want to prove yourself, And show me that you've changed. But the scars from your betrayal, Still haven't fully mended. It's not that I don't want to forgive you, It's just that it's hard to do. I'm still trying to heal my heart, And move on from you. I hope you understand, That this is what I need to do. I want to be happy again, Without any thoughts of you. I

I'll show you that I'm sorry, With the moon and stars above. I'll m
