The Tempest by Sakariyah Ridwanullah
Like the storm birthed by The flood Earthquaking and heaven-quaking Downpour from the Seventh of the skies That batters like the beating of the Iraq soldiers Exhuming the carcass of the Lazy Uprooting burdens from the depth of the earth People screamed, "oh what on earth is unveiling? How grave have sinned? What do our mouths have to say?" The world cried out to no avail. Is the world wobbling into extinct? Or the Judgment is wailing to come about? O God, show us Your Eyes of Mercy! That we can live a new peace. And then came peace The world wears a new look, Speak a born-again dialect After the wash-away of sins Triggered by the stormy rain Redemption usurps the throne of unrest And written in the sky is A lining silver.
