Is This Peace or a Chained Wall of Captivity by Maryam Bello
Palestine's heart, beating strong yet confined,
In the shadows of oppression, a nation defined.
Mosques echo prayers, a steadfast call,
The earth trembles, as walls that once stood tall, now in pieces.
Genocide's shadow, a bitter lament
Yet, faith's fire burns, their soul unbent.
They are united in the face of injustice;
their tenacity is a story yet to be told.
The hearts of Muslims everywhere beat in unison.
Their faith is the shield to their brothers and sisters.
Yet, let it be known, this isn't their fate,
The world must awaken, it's never too late.
To break down the chains, to silence the guns,
To stand up for justice, till freedom is won.
The history of Palestine is ingrained in our hearts.
A struggle for the common good and a monument to strength.
We shall respond to the call in faith and harmony
Until everyone is free and there is peace in Palestine.
