Death Is A Shocker By Mutohhir Abdulhamid Olanrewaju

On September 26th, 2022, I received the news of the passing of an extraordinary individual, an icon, a legendary leader, an unparalleled scholar, a mentor, a father figure, a devout practitioner, a global legal expert, a dynamic force across international spheres, a man of great integrity, the spiritual leader of leaders worldwide, a gentle soul in his dealings, a contemporary luminary in Islamic studies, a beloved grandfather, and a beacon of guidance for our ummah in the 21st century. He was a well-civilized Alfa, one of the most venerable scholars of our great ummah, a world traveler, a peacemaker who opposed oppression and condemned terrorism, a prolific writer, a profound thinker for Islam, and a poet of our era – Shaykh Abdul Yusuf al-Qaradawi.

I vividly recall that moment; I was traveling from Nasarawa State to Osun State, and it was around 1:00 pm when one of my brothers called to inquire if I had heard about the demise of Shaykh Yusuf al-Qaradawi. At that point, I was unaware of the news until I confirmed it from a reputable Islamic source. Death is an inevitable reality, and every soul shall return to its Creator. Shaykh Yusuf al-Qaradawi lived a noble life before his departure, reaching the age of 96.
The youth of our ummah should strive to emulate his remarkable achievements, a rare feat in this era.

I pray to Allah that I could have had the opportunity to meet him and perhaps kiss his hand, even if only for a brief moment. Unfortunately, destiny did not grant me that privilege.

I urge all scholars and seekers of knowledge to delve into his writings, seeking a deeper understanding of his wisdom.

May Allah, the Most Merciful, forgive his shortcomings and grant him steadfastness in the hereafter
