Reasons Why You Need To Watch Ertugrul Ghazi Series (Episode 2) By Mutohhir Abdulhamid Olanrewaju

"In our religion, an ideal Muslim or Muslimah must understand that a deep understanding of Allah's attributes aligns with our Ibadah (worship).
The Qur'an refers to this when Allah describes them as "Servants of the Beneficent." Allah says, "And the servants of the Beneficent Allah are those who walk upon the earth humbly, and when the ignorant address them, they say: Peace. And they who spend the night prostrating to their Lord and standing. And they who say: O our Lord! Turn away from us the punishment of hell, for its punishment is indeed an abiding torment. Evil it is as a dwelling place and as a place to rest. And they who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor niggardly, and there is always a just mean between these [extremes]. And they who do not invoke any other god along with Allah, nor take a life, which Allah has made sacred, except in the pursuit of justice, and they do not commit adultery. And he who does that shall face the penalty." (Q25:63-68)

All these attributes mentioned in these verses can be found in Ertugrul Ghazi. The main key to sincerity is Ibadah, and practicing it as the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, did.

According to Shaikhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him), he said: "Ibaadah is obedience to Allah by carrying out what He has commanded through His messengers." He also said: "Ibaadah is a collective term for everything that Allah loves and is pleased with, whether it's in speech, inward or outward actions.

I began watching the Ertugrul Ghazi series three years ago. I have never watched a movie that has strengthened my Ibadah like this before. Nowadays, many of us watch movies without understanding their content, while some abstain from them, believing they waste time. For me, there are numerous lessons to be learned from the Ertugrul Ghazi series, and one of them is how to strengthen your connection with your Creator through worship.

When I say worship (Ibadah), I mean how Ertugrul Ghazi dedicated his time to worship his Creator. He understood that every aspect of his life was a form of worship to the Almighty Allah. Ertugrul Ghazi believed in du'a (supplication) and constantly turned to Allah. He performed Tahajjud regularly and directed all his needs to Allah.

One of the reasons I admire Ertugrul Ghazi is how he called upon his Lord, his body language, and the way he used his tongue. He learned this from his mentor. Ertugrul Ghazi laid a strong foundation for those who came after him. Many people emulate him through his worship, despite being a warrior; he always maintained his five daily prayers. His family, friends, relatives, and entire tribe respected him as their leader because of his devotion.

Anyone seeking success in life must always seek help from above. Throughout his life, Ertugrul relied on prayer more than the sword. It's not the sword on the battlefield, but the heart connected to the Creator of the heavens and earth that matters.

Worship isn't limited to observing Salah; a conscious Muslim must understand that every aspect of their life is an act of worship. When this legend prepared for battle, he knew he would succeed, whether returning home or returning to Allah.

Speaking from experience, I learned from him how a Muslim should relate to the Qur'an, especially in this era where people memorize the Quran without understanding its meaning or pondering over it. The Quran can be understood, but we need someone to teach us how to use this Noble Book.
A Mexican couple accepted Islam after watching Ertugrul Ghazi series. These converts, residing in the United States of America, professed their Shahadah (Testimony of Faith) with Çelal, who played AbdulRahman Alp in the Ertugrul Ghazi series.
Our past heroes have laid a strong foundation for us; let's strive to do the same for our future generations.

There are more reasons why you should watch the Ertugrul Ghazi series. Asalam alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu."
